Australian Expansion
It’s all change in Australia. Having incorporated court recording specialists Court Recording Services Pty in July 2006, Merrill has now completed the acquisition of Australia’s premiere real-time company, ComputerReporters. The consolidation of these two businesses with Merrill’s existing court reporting and transcription company creates a platform to provide a range of solutions to legal practitioners, courts and corporates across Australia. Directors Lesley Dankbaar and Errol Carter are remaining with the new business, focusing on developing Merrill’s profile in high end trials, litigations and public inquiries.
ComputerReporters have been providing services to the legal community from their Sydney hub since 1989 and have developed a formidable reputation for quality and timeliness, specialising in delivering transcripts “real-time”, displaying the words spoken within seconds of a speaker finishing a sentence.
Managing Director, Neil Griffin said: “We are very excited about the acquisition of Computer Reporters as it gives us an excellent opportunity to provide comprehensive and integrated services nationally for the first time.”
Computer Reporters has its headquarters in Sydney and Merrill’s real-time and daily work will be coordinated from this office.
