CASELEX project enters critical phase

A major international law project, in which WordWave is playing a key part, is moving into an important new phase.

The project, called CASELEX, aims to improve the exchange and supply of information on important legal cases from nine different countries – the UK, Republic of Ireland, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Lithuania, Spain and Norway.

A consortium and advisory board made up of European publishers, public case law content holders, legal research centres, lawyers, academics and the European Association of Judges have been set up to co-ordinate the online initiative.

Following an advisory board meeting last month to allocate responsibility for taking forward specific elements of the project, WordWave will be helping to source case law, through its experience of online legal publishing, as well as advising on how to present the data and build the new website.

The project is due to go live in early 2006.
