Deposition Service goes from strength to strength

To assist with this expansion, we have created the position of Deposition Manager and are pleased to announce that Rachel Matheson joined Merrill Legal Solutions in November to fulfil this role. Rachel will be based in London working exclusively on depositions, focusing on continued service improvement and tight case management. Vicky Harris, Business Development Director of Merrill Legal Solutions said: ‘As part of a US business we are in an ideal situation to provide US attorneys travelling outside the US with the same level of service they expect within the US. We understand the specialist skills required and have worked closely with our New York office to replicate their service offering in Europe.

Merrill Legal Solutions has been particularly successful in providing services for complex litigation where double or triple tracking, video-streaming, real-time transcription and synchronised transcripts and video are required. In recent months we have been providing deposition services for the largest global litigation matters including Enron and Parmalat.

In response to the increasing demand for its deposition services, in November Merrill Legal Solutions (under the guidance of Brian Clune, head of Merrill’s legal videography business in the US) launched its own legal videography service, employing Phillip Hill. As demand continues to increase, we anticipate this area of the business will expand and Merrill Legal Solutions will be the only court-reporting business in Europe with its own employed in-house legal videography team.

To further improve the quality of our service, we are also introducing a formal Deposition Accreditation next year which all our new deposition writers must attain.
