Inquests of Diana, Princess of Wales and Mr Dodi Al Fayed
On 8 January, at the Royal Courts of Justice, the pre-inquest meeting was held into the deaths of Diana, Princess of Wales and Dodi Al Fayed.
Baroness Butler-Sloss has been appointed as Deputy Coroner of the Queen’s Household and Assistant Deputy Coroner of Surrey for the purposes of hearing the inquests. Merrill Legal Solutions provided transcripts to Baroness Butler-Sloss and the inquiry teams and are in discussions to provide further services for the upcoming preliminaries and the main hearing in May. On 15 January, Baroness Butler-Sloss announced that the inquests will not be heard by a jury, but that she will sit alone.
