Legal Technology Awards

It is not only award season for the world of film and television, the end of January also saw the start of this year’s legal award ceremonies. On 31 January, the Legal Technology Awards were held at the Marriott Grosvenor Square Hotel and, for the first time, Merrill Legal Solutions was shortlisted in the category of Electronic Disclosure Support/Service Provider of the Year.

The Legal Technology Awards recognise and celebrate excellence in the provision and implementation of technology solutions for the benefit of legal practice. The awards are dedicated to the implementation of technology within the legal world, recognising the people who are at the cutting edge of this continuously developing area of business.

But the awards were not just a good night out, all of the shortlisted service providers were subjected to a “Dragon’s Den” type grilling from a distinguished panel of judges, which included the Head of Information Management at BP and the Head of Operations, Legal and Compliance at Barclays Bank.

Jayne Perry, UK Managing Director, says: “This was our very first year of entry for the Legal Technology Awards. Merrill Legal Solutions was pitted against Hobs Legal Docs, LDM, Legal Inc., Pinpoint and Trilantic and we were pipped at the post by Legal Inc. We came in second with a Highly Commended and we are absolutely delighted with the result.”
