Merrill Legal Solutions wins accolade for its world class litigation technology solutions at the annual Legal Technology Awards
The award, within the category, Electronic Disclosure Support/Service, recognises Merrill’s unrivalled provision and implementation of technology solutions and services for legal practices, including scanning and hosting of legal documentation, electronic presentation of evidence within the courtroom through to court reporting and transcription.
Merrill’s comprehensive range of services for gathering, collating, archiving and searching evidence can be scaled to client’s requirements, from processing and presenting a handful of documents to undertaking a major rolling data capture project, including conceptual analysis, de-duplication and near de-duplication processing. Once a hearing has been scheduled, parties can load the documents into a web-based review and case management software tool, such as Merrill Lextranet®, which can then be accessed during the hearing (via an internet browser). It is secure and easy to use, and unlike other systems is designed to host multiple parties’ data. Each party works on the documents separately, but the parties can share the costs of using the system.
Merrill’s consultative approach means it is able to develop and tailor new technology to meet clients’ individual needs. It provides customised services for many top 100 UK and US law firms, public inquiries, in-house legal teams, arbitrators, dispute resolution organisations and prosecuting agencies, including the Crown Prosecution Service, barristers’ chambers and court services in England and Wales and the Republic of Ireland.
Presented with the award during a ceremony at London’s Royal Lancaster Hotel on Thursday 29th January 2009, Jayne Perry, Managing Director said: “We are absolutely delighted to have won this prestigious award which recognises our position as a leading supplier of litigation support solutions. At Merrill, we provide state of the art technology combined with expert legal knowledge, enabling our clients to streamline procedures and consolidate services resulting in many benefits, including cost efficiencies. In addition, our extensive presence in Europe, Asia, Australia and the US means we are ideally placed to work with law firms on multi-jurisdictional matters and have the capability to collect and deliver documents and solutions to our clients in worldwide locations.”
