Merrill stenographer at No 10
It’s not every day that you meet the Prime Minister, but that was exactly what happened to one of our stenographers.
The occasion was an in depth interview with Gordon Brown conducted by top CBS newsreader, Katie Couric at Downing Street ahead of the Prime Minister’s recent visit to the United States. They discussed a range of topics form Iraq to the US presidential candidates and the full transcript can be seen on the CBS News website.
Jolanta Kaczmarek of Merrill’s Media and Corporate Communications team said “We got the call from CBS News on a Saturday asking for a stenographer to attend No 10 Downing Street the following Monday morning. As you can imagine this was a tall order, but we as we have security cleared transcribers, we were able to provide the cover that our client required within the very tight timescale.”
Our reporters are accustomed to covering high profile interviews for the media and our experienced stenographer was able to cope with the pressure, delivering an impeccable transcript within an hour of the end of the interview. Our media clients find that having a transcript produced by a stenographer is the only way to ensure important interviews such as this are recorded accurately and swiftly.
Jennifer Siebens, Vice President of CBS News, London said: “CBS News called on Merrill Legal Solutions for help in its exclusive interview with Prime Minister, Gordon Brown. All CBS outlets were clamouring for immediate transcripts: television, radio and our website. The pressure could not have been greater. Merrill delivered. We were so pleased that two weeks later we again partnered for another high-visibility interview. News is a demanding client – Merrill an exceptional resource.”
