Merrill in the Premier League
On 18 and 19 June 2007, the arbitration hearing took place into Sheffield United’s challenge against the decision by the Premier League to fine West Ham, rather than deduct points, over the signing of two Argentinian players. The incident has created a storm of media interest and, following the arbitration panel’s decision to uphold the Premier League’s decision, Sheffield United appealed to the High Court and has indicated that it is prepared to pursue the matter to the European Court.
Merrill provided daily transcription services to the arbitration panel, consisting of the Chairman and a representative appointed by each of Sheffield United and the Premier League.
