Reappointment to Tape Transcription Panel

Merrill Legal Solutions has been re-awarded its coveted place on the Tape Transcription Panel (TTP) following a successful re-tender in December. The contract, awarded by the Department of Constitutional Affairs, will run until 2008 and provides a variety of transcription work from a wide range of clients - being part of the TTP means that work can come from any source, be it a major law firm or a litigant in person.
The volume of work makes the TTP team at Merrill one of the busiest in the transcription department. The operation is run out of the Kingston office and the team includes six transcribers in the UK (two of whom are ex-stenographers) and a pool of transcribers in New Zealand, all of whom ensure the quick turnaround that is required. Contract director, Caroline Woodman says “We are delighted to have retained our place on the TTP for another two years. The team have worked hard to provide a consistently high quality service to clients. In particular, our colleagues in New Zealand have given us even more flexibility to ensure that we meet the tight deadlines that our clients require.” Transcripts ordered via TTP are produced from tapes or digital audio, depending on what is provided by the court in question. To initiate a booking please call 020 8974 7300 or e-mail tape@merrillcorp.com. You will also need to fill in a form called an EX107 tape transcript request, which you must obtain from the court and return to them. Prices for our TTP services are available on request.
