Daily / Next Day Reporting

For shorter hearings, where you may not require real-time, but still need a court reporter present to produce a verbatim record of proceedings, Merrill Legal Solutions can provide timely, accurate written records of formal hearings, produced on site by a skilled reporter or notetaker then edited to the highest levels of accuracy and delivered to you either at the end of the hearing day or the following morning.

Why use Merrill Legal Solutions?

Merrill began providing stenography in 1983 and has been refining the service ever since. Today, stenography is the tried and tested method of creating an official court record and is still the technique of choice in the majority of the world’s courtrooms.

How does it work?

A stenographer or notetaker arrives half an hour before the start of the hearing to set up their writing equipment and familiarise themselves with the seating plan, names and position of the attendees. The transcript which is 95% accurate in draft format can be made immediately available should time be critical, otherwise the draft transcript can be checked against the audio to produce a 99.99% accurate record within a short period of time.

Who uses this service?

The Top 100 UK law firms, barristers’ chambers and arbitrators use this service, as well as public sector organisations including the Cabinet Office, Competition Commission, Transport for London and the UK Courts of Appeal and Crown Courts.

Non legal clients include human resources departments who use this notetaking service to cover meetings where an audio recording is not permitted, for example grievance, disciplinary meetings and tribunals. Investor relations departments for AGMs and EGMs. PR and marketing companies for AGMs, roundtable discussions, market research and focus groups.
